Training with the legendary Luchador EL GRAN APACHE at his gym in Mexico while on tour in 2013. Not bad for a (59 years old at the time) Latin-Jazz musician !
El Gran Apache (Mario Balbuena Gonzalez) passed away May 7,2017 due to cancer. He was a legendary luchador (wrestler), trainer, father, husband and most importantly a beautiful human being. He was also a latin music fanatic who had an orchestra (El Gran Apache y Sus Gladiadores) that he sung with, combining music with a wrestling show. It was very entertaining. He will be greatly missed. It was my honor to have spent a week training with him and getting to know him on a more personal scale. He was the real deal.
(This video was after one of the incredibly rigorous training sessions where he took extra time to work with me on a few 'moves').
